Monica Pohlmann is Senior Consultant with Reos Partners. Reos is a company of strategists and facilitators that helps people move forward together on their most important and intractable issues (www.reospartners.com).
Monica believes that collaborative intelligence is a key tool for accelerating community and organizational resilience. A long-time sustainability advocate with over 20 years of experience in urban planning, environmental policy, and strategic planning, Monica’s work emphasizes approaches that help diverse groups —government, business and not for profits — work together to address challenging issues. In particular she is driven by the intent to build the ‘social infrastructure of sustainability’, and the capacity to collectively gain insights into complex challenges and discover new solutions that can be co-created and co-implemented.
Monica ran her own sustainability and strategy consultancy for seven years, worked as an urban planner and environmental policy advisor for municipal government for a decade, co-founded an urban sustainability NGO that engaged thousands of citizens, and has served on many boards, most recently as Chair of The Natural Step Canada.
Monica has a Master of Environmental Design (Planning) from the University of Calgary, a B.Sc. from the University of Guelph, and is a Registered Professional Planner. She was also a 2014 Clean50 Honouree.
