Wayne’s passion is to grow companies that generate a social and environmental impact in sub-Saharan Africa. He currently leads Growth Mosaic Ltd. which identifies early-stage impact businesses, accelerates them to become investment-ready, and matchmakes with appropriate investors. Growth Mosaic is based in Ghana and works in agribusiness, healthcare, sanitation, renewable energy, clean water, education, manufacturing, and other impact sectors. So far Growth Mosaic has supported its clients to raise over US$2 million, and impacted over 12,500 rural customers.
Since 2007, Wayne has worked in Malawi, Ghana, Burkina Faso, and Kenya doing small business consulting. Wayne’s first introduction to EWB Canada was volunteering with the University of Waterloo chapter in 2005, and since then he has worked with and led a number of teams both in Canada and sub-Saharan Africa. In Ghana, Wayne is an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Hub Accra offering advice to Ghanaian start-ups, and supports the early-stage business ecosystem through Ghana Start-up Cup, ENGINE business plan competition, and Next Wave Africa.
